Basmah is a Registered Psychotherapist

Whether therapy is completely new to you, or you have shown up to do this work before, I look forward to supporting you on your mental health journey in a non-judgemental and empathetic space. I believe that every person has what they need within them to handle whatever life brings. My goal is to partner with you as you make connections between your past, your current experience, and bravely envision your future.
I come with several years of experience facilitating groups in community garden spaces, in addition to mentoring and training youth and adults in their career development. I love being in nature, and believe that connecting to and grounding ourselves in nature can help us stay attuned to the present moment long enough to make significant changes in our lives. As someone who has always worked within diverse communities, I strive to work from an anti-oppressive and trauma informed lens. In addition, I have received training in Crisis Responding, Mental Health First-Aid, Solution-Focused Career Counselling, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and Emotion-Focused Therapy and look forward to pulling from evidence-based theories to support you in a way that uniquely benefits you
